The Outer Banks…a name of intrigue and rebellion…a break form the mainland…a thin strip on nautical charts to admire…and fear. For this is the graveyard of the Atlantic…a home to fallen British soldiers and grazing Spanish mustangs. Where waves crash while men take flight…and sailors look for a towering light. Such beautiful irony these barrier islands…the ocean and the sound. Its beauty, history and culture are just waiting to be discovered.

Join Grammy Award-winning storyteller and musician David Holt as he explores North Carolina's famed Outer Banks. He will take you from the sandy shores of Currituck Beach all the way to Blackbeard's favorite hideout on Ocracoke Island. Along the way we will visit the Wright Brothers Memorial, the Lost Colony, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and the four remaining lighthouses still standing on the Outer Banks. These are just a few of the many locations we visit in this program.
